A collection of Indian Television Ads (TVC)
I think the new Lux ad is nothing great. Infact while having the same ambassador for years can be beneficial to the product, in this case I feel that Aishwariya has definitely lost her charm and infact lookd quite jaded. You would agree, the ambassador is not above the product and in this case "Lux", has always been projected as a,"beauty" soap. Infortunately Aishwariya could rise to the product... and i think getting Abhishek was a mistake, the story line was of no great shakes. I feel HUL needs to rethink about a new ambassador , an would be upcoming actress with a great complexion like maybe...Anoushka Sharma of Rab ne banadi jodi fame would be quite befitting ....I think if HUL wants to retain the original relevancy of the product ie. for great beauties with great skins, the ambassador has to change......
I think the ad is not a good one at all. While it is good to have the same ambassador for the product for brand imagery , the "product " is definitely above the ambassador , which, in this case does not seem to apply. With full honesty to the most beautiful "girl" in the world she appears to have lost her charm and looks pretty jaded in the ad. And bringing in Abhishek ,i feel was in very poor taste. The story line was extremely ordinary for a more than ordinary soap brand.I feel HUL has to relook at their ambassador. Lux has always been about beautiful actreses with great complexions. It suited Aishwariya a couple of years back definitely... but HUL has to move on in order to keep the relevancy of the product......May be someone as beautiful with a brilliant youthful complexion like Anoushka Sharma of Rab ne banadi jodi fame would be better suited for the new Lux !
